Record-Breaker: ’77 FJ40
posted by Patrick Ernzen
Several years ago I shot a 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser restored by Finishing Touch and auctioned by RM Auctions. It not only exceeded auction estimates, but came close to setting a record for such a vehicle. When I was again called upon by RM Auctions and tasked with shooting another FJ40 built by Finishing Touch I knew it would be another stellar truck. When was handed the keys and told to take it out for the shoot it was my first time driving an FJ and I now see the appeal even more than I did before. It was a completely different experience than more modern trucks/SUVs and it was clear that everything was there for a reason. After driving and shooting it, getting a close look at the work and attention to...
1967 Toyota 2000GT

My very first car was a Super White 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Before I was even sixteen years old I was looking at photos of SW20s online, researching everything there was to know about them, posting on MR2 specific forums and saving every penny I had while browsing classified ads. Once I finally found and bought my car (the only MKII Turbo within hundreds of miles) I grew even more fond of MR2s (later purchasing a 1987 MR2 as well) and Toyotas in general. With that, not surprisingly, the Toyota 2000GT very quickly became one of my favorite cars. However, up until the evening I shot this particular car, I’d never had the pleasure of laying my eyes on one in the flesh. After seeing the flawless curves of...

Lexus LFA

I’ve been following the LFA project since the very first concept was introduced way back in 2005 and, unlike many, I’ve been a staunch supporter for the six year development. My first car was a ’91 Toyota MR2 Turbo and my first car in Arizona was an ’87 Toyota MR2. ...
1994 Toyota Supra

The Mk.IV Supra is one of the most beloved cars Toyota has ever built. تعلم البوكر Its combination of looks and extreme performance capability make it an undeniably impressive vehicle and when offered the opportunity to shoot one of these legends, there was no way I was going to say “no”, even if I am more into European cars myself. Powered by the famous 2JZ engine, this particular Supra is putting down over 500 horsepower. غريزمان Having ridden in it, I can tell you that it’s definitely no slouch. ألعاب محرمة This Supra is less car, more rocket ship.
