2014 Copperstate 1000 Send-Off

I’ve said it here before time and time again, so I won’t prattle on repetitively too long. Bottom line: The Copperstate 1000 is one of the best vintage car events in the Valley. It’s one thing to see such an impressive range of vintage cars, including some of the best-of-the-best, at a car show and something else to see them actually being driven. And not just driven, but DRIVEN. For this reason, I always shoot in the field for a bit before camping out roadside to catch all of these amazing machines beginning their long journey. Personal favorites this year included the always impressive 1965 Lamborghini 3500 GT Zagato (my third or fourth time seeing it in person), 1948 Alfa Romeo Nardi...

The 23rd Copperstate 1000, 2013

Without question, the Men’s Arts Council of Phoenix Art Museum Copperstate 1000 departure from Tempe Diablo Stadium is my favorite Phoenix Valley automotive event every single year. The 21st Annual Copperstate 1000

Every year, the Copperstate 1000 brings out the best of the best, and this year’s event was no exception. Previous years have played host to some of my personal favorites… Ferrari 250 Californias, BMW 507s, Zagatos, XKSSs and much more. It’s one thing to see cars of this caliber displayed like sculptures at a car show or rolling slowly across an auction block swarmed by a crowd of buyers, sellers and spectators, but it’s an entirely different thing to see them bursting by at full throttle in all their glory. This year, Zagato bodied cars and red open-top racers made a strong presence and definitely caught my eye. Check out the full gallery from this year’s launch as well as shots...

Better Late Than Never Jun09

Better Late Than Nev...

With all of the regular weekly, monthly, annual and oddball events, it seems that there’s always something going on somewhere in the valley. Between all of those events, photo shoots, trackdays and everything else it’s hard to keep up with it all and I often get behind when it...
