In October 1955, this stunning example rolled off the assembly line in Germany and was placed on a boat bound for the port of New York where it was delivered to its first owner. New synchros were installed in the transmission which was mated up to a new clutch. Prior to the installation of the motor, a modern R134 air-conditioning system was installed where no extra holes had to be placed in the firewall or the body, with cool air directed through existing ducts. Since its completion, less than 500 miles have been put on this stunning example of one of the most important automobiles of all time. Finished in dark Pewter Gray metallic, the interior has been finished in period correct tan plaids and is equipped with very desirable Rudge knock-off wheels, proper tool kit and side window storage bag. Complimenting the interior is a set of custom-made fitted luggage, perfect for that weekend getaway to the Swiss Alps, or a tour along French Riviera.
