Things are a little weirder out west…

… and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’ve only been out to the Glendale Cruise-In at Mixteca (held every Friday and Saturday night) twice now but both times I’ve seen more than a handful of unique cars and trucks unlike anything I’d seen before or since. This past Saturday night included more than a couple heavily modified Volkswagen Beetles, a seriously hardcore old pickup with a clam shell frontend and a bed filled by giant radiators, a Hummer H1 with one of the airbrushed paint jobs I’ve ever seen and Tweety Bird themed Camaro with some seriously meaty rear tires, amongst other things. A lot of this may not sound like the greatest stuff on the road on paper, but I’m always a fan of people making what they love when it comes to custom cars and especially when they’ve clearly done much, if not all, of the work themselves.

With the show happening every single Friday and Saturday night, I’m going to definitely make more of an effort to get out there more regularly and will be documenting the sights (and hopefully sounds) along the way here on Desert-Motors.com.
