\nLocal Motors Rally Fighter<\/p>\n

Over the past couple months I’ve been trying to keep more of an eye out for random car sightings at times when I may be able to snap a quick shot.\u00a0 Sometimes it takes a bit of looking, but other times they drive right up to me and are pretty damn hard to miss.\u00a0 That was the case with this Local Motors Rally Fighter<\/a>.\u00a0 While I have seen a different Rally Fighter out at a couple of events, seeing one randomly on the street is a completely different experience.\u00a0 Without question it has as much road presence as just about anything else I’ve ever seen out and about. \u00a0Interesting seeing such a big, burly car with a license plate filling up at the gas station. \u00a0How do you register and buy car insurance for a thing like this? \u00a0Guessing it carries a “Special Construction” title, but how does the MVD or a car insurance company even have a clue what to charge or what the value of the thing is?<\/p>\n

Around that same time I spotted my first Chevrolet Volt.\u00a0 Surprised to see it with a California manufacturer’s plate and even more surprised by the fact that it took me so long to see one (especially with how many Nissan LEAFs seem to be in the valley).\u00a0 Oddly, I saw another Volt with an Arizona plate the very next day (but couldn’t get a pic).\u00a0 Click HERE<\/strong><\/a> to see these and other random sightings in high resolution.<\/p>\n
